Learning & Unlearning with the SFPL

Thank you to the San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) for sponsoring our FREE community classes.

We have two on-going programs:

Join for one or all four embodied book clubs for The Art of Gathering: How We Gather and Why it Matters, by Priya Parker.

A crucial component on the path toward collective wellness is cultivating a sense of community. The Art of Gathering invites us to examine and reimagine our gatherings. We’ll look at all the different ways we gather both personally and professionally.

We’ll reimagine how we can be more intentional about the ways we connect … just in time for the end of year holidays!

These sessions are sponsored by the SFPL and free of charge. They are different from other book clubs in that you don't have to have read the book!

We choose sections of the book, and we read to you. You can listen and rest, read along, do some arts and crafts, or whatever else you need. There is also time to reflect on your own or to discuss in community in Zoom breakout rooms (which are often described as the best part by attendees).

Need a copy of the book?

  1. Register (links below) and then email SFPL Librarian Anissa Malady with your mailing address to request a copy of the book for your home library, while supplies last!

  2. Borrow from SFPL or your public library.

  3. Buy from Bookshop.org or Libro.fm (for the audiobook) to support local, independent bookstores. If you click through and make a purchase, you’ll also support TendWell with a commission.

Please join even if you haven’t read or finished the book.

2nd Tuesday’s on Zoom @ 6:30-7:30 pm Pacific

Join TendWell co-founders, Andrea Stern & Emily Hedges for Gentle Yoga in-person at various SFPL branches.

We'll move mindfully and slowly to soothe the nervous system, stretch the body, and build a little strength and stability along the way.

Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. A limited number will be available to borrow.

Register for Free Community Class. Thank you SFPL.
